Sadis & Goldberg LLP announces the addition of Yehuda Braunstein to its New York Office as a Partner in the Financial Services and Corporate Groups. Mr. Braunstein’s practice focuses on investment funds, securities, regulatory compliance and investment advisers.   He regularly structures and organizes hedge funds, private equity funds (including real estate, distressed and lending funds), funds of funds, separately managed accounts and hybrid funds.  Additionally, he advises private fund managers on structure, compensation, employment and investor issues, and other matters relating to management companies.  He also structures and negotiates seed investments and provides ongoing advice to investment advisers on securities law issues and regulatory matters.

At the beginning of the year, Alex Gelinas joined our firm.  He was a partner in the Tax Group at Sidley Austin LLP for many years before joining Sadis & Goldberg.  Mr. Gelinas focuses principally on providing tax advice to investment managers of hedge funds, private equity funds and other investment funds. He also provides tax advice to U.S. pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and other U.S. and foreign institutional investors in connection with their investments in private equity funds, hedge fund and U.S. joint ventures. In addition, Gelinas has extensive experience with respect to the “plan assets” and ERISA regulatory issues.

“We are excited to have Yehuda join our firm. Given the continued growth of our practice and the sophistication of the services which we provide to the alternative investment community, Yehuda’s skills and battle tested experience are right on point with our client’s needs.  We are fortunate to continue to attract exceptionally talented partners from the industry,” said Ron S. Geffner, Head of the Financial Services Group at Sadis & Goldberg LLP.

"I was instantly drawn to Sadis & Goldberg's platform, their business model of offering sophisticated services to clients in an efficient manner," Braunstein said. "After seeing how devoted the firm is to its clients, I wanted to be part of the team."

Mr. Braunstein was formerly Special Counsel in the Investment Management Group at Schulte Roth & Zabel.  He earned his undergraduate degree from Touro College and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law.
