Sadis & Goldberg LLP Event Results in Donation to St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters

Sadis & Goldberg, LLP took part in a corporate social responsibility experience donating food to St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters. The result of their efforts was a generous donation of over 750 canned food items. The event took place at the Sadis & Goldberg offices in New York City on July 15, 2015. Sadis & Goldberg LLP worked with Impact 4 Good, a company that focuses on teambuilding programs that give back to the community. For this event, the activity was entitled “CAN-opoly”, which has the goal of creating awareness of food insecurity and working to fight local hunger. Food insecurity is a serious problem in NY, with one in six New York City residents - over 1.4 million - are food insecure. Nearly one in four children in New York City is in a similar situation. In donating to St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters, Sadis & Goldberg supports a network of Food Pantries, Shelters, Soup Kitchens, Safe Havens and Drop-In Centers that has helped feed over 10,000 poor families each week. Free clothing, diapers and toiletries have also been distributed throughout the area. Bob Wechtenhiser, a representative from St. Francis, thanked attendees for their time and donation.  In closing, he told the attendees that this donation was used for their “Stocking the Shelves” program, and allowed a food pantry in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, supported by St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters to keep up with the increasing demands on their resources from their clients looking for help to feed their families.
