Filing Deadline for the CDS Antitrust Claim is May 27, 2016!

This Alert is a reminder that you must file a Credit Default Swaps (“CDS”) Claim by 11:59 pm EDT on May 27, 2016, in order to be eligible to participate in the CDS settlement. The CDS settlement was reached amongst a group of major banks whereby they agreed to pay nearly $1.9 billion to eligible claimants, including hedge funds, that purchased or sold CDS in 2008 through September 25, 2015. The banks agreed to settle claims that they conspired to restrain trade in the market for CDS in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act. The CDS settlement represents one of the largest antitrust class action settlements in history. CDS includes all types of credit default swaps and CDS-based products. Eligible claimants include all persons who, during the period of January 1, 2008 through September 25, 2015, purchased CDS from or sold CDS to the banks, a released party, or any purported co-conspirator, in any CDS covered transaction. Eligible parties in the settlement class must submit a claim form to be eligible to receive a share of the settlement fund. Claimants must submit a claim form electronically or by mail to Credit Default Swaps Antitrust Litigation, c/o GCG, P.O. Box 10254, Dublin, OH, 43017-5754. If the claim form is not submitted electronically or postmarked by the deadline, you will not be eligible to receive a cash payment. The CDS Antitrust Settlement Website can be found at:
